The EPIC Foundation assists victims in rape and abuse by providing comfort packs filled with toiletries needed after such an ordeal. These comfort packs are distributed to rape centres, shelters and the Netcare Hospitals.

Our Debutantes and their partners spent many hours collecting these items at shopping centres and spent a day packing these parcels at the school.

In 2024 over 650 bags were completed and a large quantity of toiletries were donated to The EPIC Foundation who need these items throughout the year. The value of this donation is over R100 000. Through this charity drive, our Debs are quipped with a better understanding of the plea of many South Africans and the challenges that are faced by the larger communities.

They have also understood that working together in a team cannot only bring about huge comaraderie but also make a significant difference to a worthy cause.

The Debs also embarked on a teddy bear collection drive and handed over several bags filled with new and preloved soft toys to the Teddy Bear Foundation.

From the total funds raised by our Debs this year, a percentage will be given to H.O.L.A which assists destitute individuals and families of Greek descent; The Teddy Bear Foundation, an organisation that provided efficient and professional services to prevent and minimize the devastating effects of abuse on children and their families and the Agios Nektarios Greek Old Age Home.

Donations of toiletries and bottled water were also given to the Old Age Home. Each Deb and her partner end this journey having known that their contribution has made an impact in more ways than one. Simply put, the lesson learnt, is that “there is no better gift than that of giving.”

May our 2024 Debs continue to grow as individuals and develop the strength of character needed as they embark into the next stage of their teenage years and their future.
