When was the Ladies Committee established?

The SAHETI Ladies Committee was established in 1970, presided over by Lulu Valassis, our very first Chairlady. A promise was made to the donors that all contributions would be solely allocated to the contractor when SAHETI’s building fund was launched.

Before long it became apparent that additional funds were required to cover operational overheads. It was at that point that the newly established Ladies Committee initiated various fund raisers, thereby covering the Institute expenditure and over the years contributing to SAHETI’s growth.

Role in Fundraising

The SAHETI Debutantes Fundraising Programme fosters an ethic of active envolvement, embracing philanthropic and charitable causes.

The successful history of our fundraising programme inspires every generation to give back to the next. The legacy of FILOTIMO is embedded within our Hellenic values, a fundamental part of SAHETI’s ethos.

Debutantes Fundraising Programme

Debutantes are afforded the opportunity of giving back to society and to SAHETI School. SAHETI is a school dedicated to the pursuit of educational excellence whilst recognising the need for reinvesting in future generations of scholars.

All proceeds of the SAHETI Debutantes Fundraisers contribute to projects and developments identified by the school.

The Charity component of 'Giving back' has become an integral part of the programme whereby a percentage of the proceeds are directed to the Charities associated with the Debutante programme.

Significance of Debutante Ball

The Ball, an Honour Event, has always been one of timeless tradition, elegance and grace, signifying a notable milestone, in high school students' lives.

The first Ladies Committee dream was to hold an annual glittering community event which was first held in 1971 - The SAHETI Debutante Ball. We can proudly say that to date, we have and continue to keep that dream alive.
